By all means, take their money. It will be money "wasted" by them as it will have little to no influence here...

I aggree, run the ads as long as they pay. I see ads on TV that I don't like, but I am not going to throw the TV out.

Take their money. When they realize where their ad dollars are being spent they might solve the dilemma for us.

I use an ad blocker, and the only ad I see is for Eabco. (Firefox/Ad Blocker Plus) What would be nice is a Forum Sponsors tab at the top somewhere, where folks like me could "click thru" and generate some $$ for the site? I wasn't aware of that arrangement before reading this thread.

I agree with take the money until something else happens. I didn't see the ad and I am on here 5 times a day looking for the latest or more info that I may have looked over because It didn't register at the time. I have learned to ignore as much advertising as I can since we get bombarded from all directions. As long as it doesn't cover up what I am reading I will be able to ignor it. Happy New Year to All and God Bless America!!!!!!!!!!!

The six small buttons at the top are paid placements or affiliate placements (revenue share): EABCO, Cabelas, Midsouth, BookStore, Amazon, DogHouse (Scopes), MidwayUSA.

When you click on the Cabelas, Bookstore, or Amazon tabs, and make a purchase, a small share of revenue goes to the site.

FORUM BOSS--Take the money and smile.

Also, I'm glad you posted the following information:

I do business with some of those companies and this Board might just as well get some revenue when I make purchases from those companies.

I couldn't see anything but Eabco, so I monkeyed around with the ABP settings. For others using it, this might help. On the ABP pulldown I "opened blockable items" then looked thru the redlisted items. Choosing the "friendly" ads, I right-clicked them which offered a chance to "add an exception rule" for each. Poof, now I can see the 6 buttons but the "bad" ads are still blocked. I shop at a few of those places so I'll make sure to click thru and generate some $$ for this great site.

We're taking Cabela's ad money and they're practically anti-gun. They won't allow their employees to carry in states that it's legal and they won't even allow them to have a knife on them.

Hmm Wayne.

Where does this info come from?

I have friends that work there. It's against their policy for them to have any kind of knife on them, if caught they're fired. I was in the Gun Library the other day and the department had its own bright orange box cutter to do any kind of cutting they needed.

I see that kind of disregard for the 2nd Amendment, distrust of its employees and endangering employees as a much harsher slap in the face than this other group in question being against animal abuse - or whatever it's against. Cabela's has just tried to keep this policy under wraps because it's obviously offensive for a sporting, hunting and firearm retailer to be against the 2nd Amendment. Next time you're in there, ask an employee if they're allowed to carry a pistol or even a little Swiss Army knife. They're not allowed to even have a pistol in their cars on the property.

Just employees or any citizen that can legally carry that comes into the store?

It's just the employees they treat like that - to me it's nearly as bad as not allowing it period. They knew if they didn't allow customers with CCW permits to carry in their stores that it'd be widely known and the very people they wish to serve would most likely boycott their stores.

They also have a policy against open carrying for customers. If you do it and you're not law enforcement they'll ask you to conceal it or leave.

I used to work there once upon a time so I know those polices - I read them and had been told them by management. Back then they allowed knives to be carried by employees but they have since changed their policy on employees carrying knives.

Just so happens i live where corporate head qaurters is and no some people. Will check it out.

"They also have a policy against open carrying for customers. If you do it and you're not law enforcement they'll ask you to conceal it or leave."

This seems to contradict they signs they have about that here at the sidney store. The only signs they have are " if a firearm is brought in for trade or sell it must be checked in at the door" They have a kiosk with an employee there every hour the doors are open. I never noticed this till after the incident at Bass Pro's ( i believe).

They also have a sign that says "If legally you can CCW this policy does not effect you."

Up here they have a similar sign that says CCW is allowed. When I worked there management told us to ask people to conceal it or they'd ask people to leave.

As do I. Firefox and adblock plus, just like magic they are all gone.

I am not afraid of opposing points of view especially if they are paying to express it. As long as we (I am a contributer) are not donating to their funding, why not let them donate to our cause (accurate shooting, fellowship, information sharing etc.)
I would say to keep the 25K of income and bring on the "dancing bears".
Jus my 2 cents. rc

Maybe we should charge the 12.00 per year for everyone on here and that would raise $150,000.00 pere year and that would be 1.00 per month.Savage shooters does this to have full access to their site. Just a thought.Dont beat me up now.
