Erik Cortina says randomly re-check seating depth nodes by moving the bullet .003 further out (longer) a couple of 3-shot sets. Should the tuner/brake be set back to zero for this check or remain at the setting of best accuracy previously found ?
Leave tuner as it is to start. I seldom chase th.e lands. But out of my last roughly 20 barrels I have in the middle teens moved bullet out .004, just because. 2 of the 3 it helped with out touching the tuner. One, nothing helped, at 1400 rounds in the scrap pile. I usually get 2000 competitive rounds out of my BRX and PPC barrels.Erik Cortina says randomly re-check seating depth nodes by moving the bullet .003 further out (longer) a couple of 3-shot sets. I did my depth test yesterday and found my tightest group @ .006 longer than where I was originally seating. Still printing .232 for 5-shots @ 100 yds. so I'm happy with that.I'll find out next year! My Ftr barrel bit the dirt last half of this season, and I found the jamb length had eroded over 0.010". New barrel with my first tuner just finished! I would shoot standard length and longer candidates at zero tuner setting, just as doing original load workup.
Thanks Bro and right back at uIf you already tuned the load, you probably already checked with the tuner. (Leave the tuner there when you try the depth again.)
If you try again with the depth, and get a good outcome, then try the tuner again and see if you get better or worse. When things get this small, I find you have to play with both more than once if something gets smaller.
It's always a good problem to have to get the magnifiers out to squeeze a .232 down to a 0.1...
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Bill!
