Re-chambering a 6PPC to 6BR Questions/Help

I have a short (21") 1:13.5" twist Shilen barrel with a tight neck 6PPC chamber threaded for Savage action.
My thought was to re-chamber to 6BR since the action has a 308 bolt face and I'd like to go with a no turn neck.
The gun will be a target / varmint rig for my daughter shooting 58/65 grain bullets.

Is this worth the effort???

Not sure..supposedly less than 250
Picked up the barrel from a friend for a fair price

With only 250 rounds on the barrel, I think it is worth it.

Greg Tannel (Gre-Tan Rifles) has neck reamers in graduations of .001. For very little he can turn your PPC into a no turn, and Fred Moreo (Sharpshoter Supply ?)sells longer Savage extractors that will pull the PPC with a .308 bolt face. Just a thought.

Hence the BR route

Anyone elese had issues with them?

Yes you can rechamber a 6PPC to 6BR. The 6BR is the same length to the start of the shoulder and a little bigger.

We tend to shy away from bad mouthin companies around here. But its not hard to say your not alone...
6ppc-6BR with lightweights. Ramshot X-Terminator= whooop diggety dog
Try a 1lb jug. Then come back for more. Kills paper just as well as varmints.

Lisa over promises. However, when Fred finally gets the work done, it's done right at a good price. Lisa and Fred aren't always on the same page.
