Re-barrel Savage 112 J

I've pretty much settled on the specs. for a 6.5X47L from SShooters. .125 freebore with a .292 throat dimension. 28 inch Brux with a 1 in 8 twist. This combo is supposed to handle the 123 grain through 130 grain. Don't plan on going any heavier. Useing info I've collected from this site mainly. Couple of questions do come to mind.
Is the Brux that much better than the Douglas? I was also planning on the varmint contoured barrel which I believe is roughly 13/16 at the muzzle speaking in inches. The target contour is maybe better. Don't know the wt. of either of these barrels.
Thing is I've got a buddy shooting a Savage in .308. It's a 15 lb. set up with a 32 inch barrel. Real tack driver. Kind of like to beat him. Any underhanded advice will be appreciated. Barrels going on a Savage 112 J single shot.
Thanks for your time.

Buy a 6mmBR and beating your buddy will be a peice of cake. Buy a 1 in 8 twist shoot 105 Bergers and you a shoot little groups all the way out to 600 yards. Brux Barrels are excellent. I sure like the one I have. Barrel is 1.250 full lenght 28" long and shoots in one tiny little hole.
