I am looking for the value of a Savage Model 112/Series J in 222 Rem. It is a benchrest model with a completely adjustable trigger, and walnut stock.

Probably depends on the potential buyer, overall condition and number or rounds. I don't recall a benchrest stock on a Model J. Are you saying it is word with a palm swell and 2.25 forend?

Rick,
I'm not sure on the benchrest stock, it may be a round bottom stock. It is a friends gun, he is looking to sell, and looking for a starting price. any info would be a help.

Mark,
The 36th edition (2015) of the "Blue Book" list the 112 varmint rifle which had a heavy stock and palm swell at $350 at 100% and $275 at 90% if that helps any. They were available in .220 Swift, .222Rem., .223 Rem (in 1976), .22-250 Rem., .243 Win., .25-06 Rem. All single shot made from 1975-78.

Almost bought a new one in .220 Swift in '76. Got a 77V Ruger used from a friend instead.

My first true varmint rifle was a 112J in 222, a fine shooter, way back in the 1980's. Be careful adjusting that trigger, get it wrong and you can have it go off unexpectedly. If you pull the trigger with the safety on and then release the safety it can go off. At least that's what the gunsmith said caused me to nearly shoot my best friend.
