Have any of you guys had a custom barrel put on your Howa 1500? How does it shoot? Did you have to have your action trued up? Tell me about it and lets see some photos? Metric threads suck, but i think i can handle it. Lee

Done more than a few ...338BR/Whisper/WTF in a Manners. Once you learn to think in metric....never-mind.

how are the actions? pretty true is what i hear? whats your take on them? lee

.....its an action thats ONLY downside being the multitude of accessories that are available for Rems and Salvages.... arent for the Howa.
That being said there are ...triggers that work well and some stockmakers inlet for Howa.

This ones a 6 X 47L that with some minor truing .... Shoots groups like the included target all day long

Tenon Dims go: 25.87mm x .719 x 1.55 ... and I cut .050 deep for the threads. (1.018 x 16 1/2 tpi) and no recoil lug so use a groove. The actions are consistent enough from one to the next to switch barrels .. from measurements taken from the ones I have worked on.
My machine doesnt allow the halfnut to be disengaged to cut Euro threads ;D which turned into a very teachable moment.
Be sure to wear the shirt with the muscles in it when you go to remove the barrel .
I dont think you can buy a better shooting "out of the box" rifle than Howa.
