RCBS Rebel?

I've been wanting one of these. How do you find the primer ejection through the ram?
I only used it a few times for de-capping brass. I found it to be no problem, I kept a box or 5 gallon bucket under it. However I have an old Rock Chucker all set up for de-capping brass. I bought one of these: Primer catcher from board member @The German which works great, and imo it was well worth it. He's a nice guy and great to do business with. My reasoning about setting up the old Rock Chucker was to keep as much crap as I could out of the Ram and speed things up a bit.

Interesting for sure.

I an still using an old JR3 that I picked up used. Shorter then the RC and only has simple leverage but it serves very well for the short cartridges I use, such as the 223, BR and ARC/GRENDEL.

I think the answer is the press is currently sold as part of a kit only. I seem to remember that there was some issues with a short handle making it difficult to size the larger cartridges.

Watched a couple of videos on the rebel and I assumed that the primer ejection was put the bottom of the ram. Looks like primers actually come out the back of the ram at 45 deg and that ejection port STILL moves into the press body when the ram is lifted up. So your still dragging carbon into the ram guide bore and mixing it with the grease applied through the zerk to make a nice lapping paste.

I guess this is done so the ram linkage bolt can be one piece. Is there any other presses which eject out the bottom?

Lee presses eject at the bottom, but it does not make a big difference - there are primer catchers in the market that help with directing the spent primers on the Rebel, so you don't need a bucket.

My redding big boss 2 is my favorite and primers go down the center of the ram into a plastic hose. I like it better than my 1974 RC and forster coax. I have a little bucket under mine to catch the primers or you can put the supplied plug in the end of the hose and empty when full

That was why I set up my old Rock Chucker along with the Primer Catcher @The German sells so I didn't have to be concerned with how the old primers are ejected from the Rebel press. I also cleaned the grease out of it, and lightly oiled it instead.

I used to oil my RCBS Rock Chucker, but in the last few years. I changed over to tube grease which slows down the speed that you can operate it & you can let go of the handle & it stays where you left it. It keeps the action from slamming full handle down or up.

This goes for the Dillion RL-450 & the +L650 too.

After about 5k cycles, the units are pulled off the bench & cleaned up & regreased for more action.
