This part of the press frame is in pure tension so I don’t think it will matter at all. The base and top cap are thick and sturdy which seems to me much more important.Looks like it would be about 3x as flimsy as a cast iron O press and 2x as flimsy as a C frame. Those solid dowel rods for a frame are not near as strong as a solid frame
I havent ran a model on it but even the slightest misalignment will throw it out of pure tension and it will deflect way more than normal. Does it matter? i couldnt see anything special about it but mabie thats cause i cant tell how big it is from the pictures. so the rebel has an opening big enough to do 50 bmg? and bigger than my Ultramag? will it accept the larger diameter dies? thanksIt's a great press for 416 Barrett, The Chey-Tac Family & of course 50 cal. - And it works well for all the smaller stuff as well. - Very well built and no job is too big for it.

Because I'm a grummpy old man! I added the link to the rebel too. Most of us are old grumpy men, you start a thread asking bout the rebel, why would you only post a link about the secondary subject???
Thanks for that info RonThe Ammo Master press is Very big. - it was designed around loading the 50 BMG and other big cartridges, and the ram is a full 2.00" in diameter. - There is approx. 7.5" of space from the shell holder to the opening where either a 1 1/2" x 12 tpi threaded die or a reducer bushing is screwed in. - The 3 rods that hold the bushing plate are 1" steel, set up in a triangle pattern and it is a very ridged press. - The "rebel" is new & it appears that it is slightly larger than a the Rock Chucker press. -
Not here to derail the thread as it is about the Rebel Press, but the OP mentioned the Ammo-Master press and that was the reason I chimed in.
The Ammo master is a great press if someone is looking for a single stage press to load Everything from a .17 cal. to a 50 BMG. - I'm not saying it's for everyone or is "the best press out there". - I'm just speaking from experience of owning & using one and the big red Hornady press which is marketed as a 50 bmg press. - Basically the Ammo Master & the Hornady are almost identical.
I don't believe the Rebel is as large as the older "Big-Max" and I don't believe that the Rebel is big enough to handle 50 BMG.

Well I use blue grease for the Dillon so, green grease for the RCBS??We might as well get opinions now so we will be ready when it hits dealer shelves.
What is the best grease to squirt into that zerk?![]()

Well to tell you the truth I was confused as well. I’ve never seen a rebel and you was saying this may be your next press so I thought same as Dusty that the AmmoMaster was it, never saw one of them either. So I’m in the inbreed hillbilly can’t read group as well I guess.

I purchased one last year new and it said "Made in USA" but after seeing your questions I have emailed RCBS and should hear back tomorrow and will post here.Im in the market for a larger press, anybody know where this one is made? I thought the new rock chucker went to China, dont know if it still is or not.
No sir I got it right, as they say "back in the day I rode them hard and put them up wet!"“Kentucky, home of wild women and fast horses, I'm just to old to enjoy either one now!”
Shooter13, are you sure that you don’t have this bassackward?
Sorry........![]()
