RCBS Rebel press primer catcher

Well I posted a picture of my primer catcher consisting of a funnel, clear plastic tube and an 8lb powder jug but does anyone have something better? I use that funnel a lot and having to take it off as a primer catcher is just a hassle   so doesn't anyone have anything better (and no a 5 gallon Lowes can doesn't count!). Help! :(

I bought a primer catcher for my rock chucker on ebay. I just checked ,they have one for a rebel press. Search rcbs primer catcher.
Thank you! I'll check it out. I'm usually pretty tech savvy but didn't see a thing about a Rebel press primer catcher, do you have a link? Sorry for the bother.
Thanks,

I bought a primer catcher from FleaBay. It was junk. Turns out it is a knock off of one a fella on this forum makes. The FleaBay guy even uses the same name. Beware.. Find the member here and get the real deal.

You would think that after all the complaints that the RC had concerning primer catching that RCBS would learn to design a good primer catching system, like through the ram into a tube or catcher of some kind. JMO

I really like the idea of the primer ejecting through the ram BUT to not provide a system other than say "a trash can" is unacceptable in my humble opinion.

RCBS truly screwed their new press design up on the Rebel, I have one I used twice and I unbolted it and literally tossed in across the shop floor into the trash pile. Who the hell wants to mess with a bucket undeer their feet and have to clean up the ones off the floor that bounce off your leg. Piss Poor design to say the least.
If anyone comes up with a good design to catch them out of that POS please post it up, I might go get it out of the scrap pile then.

I’m shocked the idiots still produce stupid stuff, this is a classic example of an engineer designing something that doesn’t have a damn clue about reloading and whats even worse is the bafoons let it go out the door with a “Use A Bucket In Between Your Feet“ approach. They did add the almighty “Grease Zerk” though, boy that really made a difference LOL..

Absolutely, have anything you want me to test for you? If something’s a POS why sugar coat it. Way to many YES people around and I’m not one of them. If it’s a great product then I’ll say so but this isn’t one of them. Life’s to short or deal with crap and that press is pure crap. They should have stuck with what they had, a beefed up backbone and a grease zerk with no primer catch is hardly a winner.

My own bad for not reading or looking at it before buying it, I will from now on.

I like mine and am getting great runout (of course with great dies!) on it but the primer deal is really crap! I have a primer catcher ordered and should have it Tuesday, will let you know how it works!

If you give me a heads up on the primer catcher situation I would appreciate it and that will totally change my opinion about the press. I started using the Area 419 and I’m loving it thus far but its not that much better than the Rebel honestly other than the primer catcher works like a champ and it looks bad arse lol. I use all high end dies as well so it’s not at all a money situation with me, it’s a functioning deal 100%.. I have pretty much every press that’s been made in the last 25 years so I’m pretty familiar with most everything out thr but I tell it like it is unfortunately.. I want to love the Rebel and that was my intention going into it but the primer situation was a joke.
FYI I’m not saying I’m all that either, I’m a rookie and amateur by the standards of a ton of guys in here so please don’t take my words as meaning that. I just use a ton of equipment and know the differences between most everything out thr.

High end or low end I’ll toss money into just about anything going to try it out first hand, unlike the “Ultimate Reloader“ on YouTube I’ll tell it like it is and not what they want to hear..

Here's my Rockchucker mod. It uses the RCBS supplied catcher with an electrical reducer epoxied into the bottom with a 3/8" tube and hose clamp.

You mean like the Lee cast iron press? That primer catching system works.

Yes. The Co-ax also uses something similar. What I like about such a system is all the primer crud does not get on the ram and cause wear on the ram or press housing where the ram passes thus causing ram slop. Primers on the floor IMO is no big deal.
