RCBS hand primer

am I the only one having problems getting remmington 9 1/2 primers to feed through it ? no problems with CCI or fed's . I have 2 RCBS hand primers both have the same problem .

No problems whatsoever here, but then I don't own one. :D
Slick the tray up with wax as G&GS says, I do this on my Dillon primer trays and it works.

Maybe they changed the design but 10 years ago I gave up on RCBS hand primers - they were made of "pot metal" and constantly developing fatigue cracks. RCBS, being such a good customer service company, readily replaced mine so it's hard to find fault with the company.

However I got tired of going through this time consuming process of replacing them so I purchased a Sinclair Hand Priming tool. albeit expensive, but has worked flawlessly for over 10 years loading thousands of rifle and pistol rounds.

I have two of the RCBS Universal Hand Priming tools and have never had a problem with any primers - any brand, large or small primer. They look fairly similar to the Hand Primer, but I don't know if there are differences in the feed area or trays.

Check the plastic insert for wear. If you call RCBS they will send you a new set. I was having issue, also with Rem primers, and this fixed it. The Remington primers seem to have a sharper edge than the CCI.

Exactly, disassemble the plastic part and clean the crud and lightly polish and chamfer the sharp edges with 400 grit sand paper. I have two RCBS universal priming tools that are used for priming new cases with spent primers in preparation for hydroforming. Each has primed tens of thousands of cases.
