Several years ago I bought a RCBS Charge Master 1500. After putting a section McDonald's straw and reprograming it at the instructions of Don Legg (RCBS QA Tech) it worked great. Over the years it got more and more difficult to get started and usually I had to dispose of the first throw as it was over the desired weight.
About two months ago I called Don Leg us and we went through the start up and program sequence. It was still taking several tries to get the unit up and running. I was instructed to return it for service or repair. I told Don I could not be with out a Charge Master 1500 and would purchase a second unit to keep me loading while the older unit was being returned.
I ordered a second unit from Natchez Shooter Supply because they had the best price I could find. When the new unit arrived I packed the older unit in the newer units box and returned it to RCBS. After about 3 weeks RCBS sent me a replacement unit for the older unit.
The newer unit I bought from Natchez was defective and also had to be returned. I believe I have talked with everyone in the RCBS QA section. I now have another new RCBS Charge Master that is working. I can set them up beside each other and get them both throwing the same loads and load as fast as I can seat bullets.
I will have to say RCBS stands behind their products. This prompts return business by satisfied customers. RCBS is owned by ATK. ATK just bought Savage and Bushnell. I hope ATK brings with it the product service exhibited at RCBS to these other companies.
