RCBS 10.10?

I have a Lyman M5. For those of you guys that have the RCBS 10.10, How do you guys like the part of the 10.10 poise system that is unique to this scale and its clones as compared to the standard hanging poise on the right which is found on the M5 and most other scales. I was thinking of picking up a 10.10 but I am not sure of which is better, and in particular, regarding the poise system differences.

I don't like the micrometer pose on the 10-10. I also don't like the graduations on the main beam are larger. I think it's only because I started with something different. I have both and have always got just as good performance out of either one so I think it's just personal preference.

Yep, I think it might be personal preference...I have had my 1010 scale since 1986 and it works perfectly. I also have a digital scale and electronic measure. I still mostly use the 1010. I have used several others at friends houses while helping them learn reloading. I have not yet found a scale I wouldn't use. I just don't think there is enough of a difference in how they work between devices that tell you how much powder you are dealing with. I don't think there are any bad scales out there...the ones that people say are better than others seem to be "better" for personal reasons. I mean, you put powder in the pan...it tells you exactly how much it is in grains...that's pretty much it, unless I am missing something??? What else is there to it???? Maybe I need a new scale!!!!

I am happy with my 505, which is 20-30 years old, except for the light weight. I won't gain much aside from stability with the 10.10/10.05 class. Sometimes I just like to have something different because I like some of the good old vintage equipment.

I've used my 10.10 for about 20 years with very good results. Now that I am older, sometimes I have to take a second look, just to make sure I have read the setting correctly. However, that is not unique to the 10.10!
I would recommend it!

Filling the base with casting plaster is easy and makes the scale feel much more substantial.
