RCBS 10:10 Scale tuning

Hi All,

I read sometime back about a guy that will "tune" a 10:10 scale, and I cannot find any info, does anybody have any info on this?

I have started usuing my 10:10 scale again as I am regulary reloading at a range where my digital scales are just too sensitive.

Any information would be appreciated.

I believe his name is Scott Parker. About 2 years ago he advertised that he tunes RCBS 10-10 and 505 scales. I sent my 10-10 scale to him and he worked his 'magic',don't recall exactly what he did to it) and when I received it back, one granule of Varget would deflect the beam. Whatever 'certified' weight I placed on the scale,20, 40, 100gns.), it would show exactly that. Very pleased with his calibration! I recall he charged about $30 for his efforts. Well worth it. The 10-10 scale is the only scale I have ever used. Very pleased with it. I have loaded 1000's of extremely accurate rounds with it.

I agree the 10:10 is a great product and if it can be made more accurate even better!

Funny thing about gravity, everyone has laboratory grade gravity. How many people have laboratory grade electricity, or barrometric pressure? One more thing to help you when using a scale out of doors....

I designed a scale wind box,with a sliding glass cover, that has a trickler inside. The trickler handle is on the outside, protruding through a closely fitting hole in the side of the box. I call it the "Missing Link" because it is the only additional piece of equipment that most of us need to load at the range with powders that cannot be thrown accurately using a measure. My friend Ed Hellam was kind enough to build us both one. Since then other friends have built them, and report that they perform exactly as intended. On a day when the wind cooperates,as determined by flags)one can cover a lot of ground insofar as load development is concerned. This is much more efficient than loading test loads at home.

Would you be so good as to maybe post a few pics of this box... I'm fixin' to send a 10.10 to Scott and would like a range-portable throw/trickle/weigh setup for use at the range. I can come up with my own design, and probably will 'customize' it a bit, but it'd be nice to see some examples.
