I heard the target frames snapped in the high winds today.

Just curious..
How big of wind does it take to snap the target frames? Inquiring minds want to know. I’ve shot in 20-30 mph wind and they held up. Must have been BIG wind

it was gusting around 30mph, would be my best guess. but it was direction from 12 behind the targets. I was getting ready to shoot my last shot at 800 when the neighbors target flew out in front of mine. Match was called right after that as it was the 2nd upright to snap. sucks cause it was a heck of a lot of fun shooting in that stuff!

I didn’t account for direction, that makes sense. Any time I shot in wind like that there was some angle to it

yep, if it would have been from say 9oclock, we would have been ok, but directly behind the targets spelled disaster. was pretty windy today, some of it from 6, but no target breakage, thankfully.

This is why I’ve had a thread going since Sunday. Trying to find out results. It’s actually surprising about the high winds. I haven’t had much wind at home, and I’m not very far west of the range.

Today was, well, interesting. Only a few TR shooters didnt have misses, at least at 1,000. there were quite a few misses at 900 as well. Full value then 1/4ing in a matter of seconds. Not purdy, nor were the scores.

Here are the final F-class results for the Rock Mountain Palma at Raton. Heavy and very difficult wind conditions!

I have seen the Highway Patrol shut the roads off for truckers in that area because they had some blown onto their sides... It gets windy there..

What are you seeing, that doesn’t look right? It’s 2 days of 1000, then a 3rd bonus match day.
