Random thought on carbon wrapped barrels.

Well, one advantage is that when it's shot out you can use it to smash cement blocks with. Is it true that they are not lighter than s.s.? I assumed that was one advantage. I am impressed with the durability but not sure what that's worth in a target gun.

They are lighter than the same contour.

I had Krieger cut a proof sendero (it ain’t a “sendero”) and it was 3lb heavier.

But if you want the lightest rifle no, that’s just a steel pencil, adding carbon on top of that only adds mass.

I have a couple switch barrel set ups with carbon. Have a heavy steel on the gun for most of my shooting and playing around, swap carbon of same size as steel on for hunting
