I picked up a M1917/P-17 that had a new barrel in 30-06 on it. The barrel is marked "R. Findley 30-06" and about all I've found is a sentence mentioning him being an El Paso gunsmith. I'm assuming the barrel is something from a barrel mfg and set up by Robert Findley. Seems to have been very well done.
This looks like something that may have been done in the 70's maybe? Just guessing by the style of the rifle. I think it was a project that may have been about 95% completed and doesn't appear to have ever been used.
My first post here, just trying to find some info on the gunsmith that put his name on the barrel.
