Quick Measure Powder Thrower

Anyone have any experience with the Quick Measure by Johnson Design Specialties?

I like mine so well, that I sold my Lyman 1200 to a friend! It will do every thing that they say it will. It takes some practice but mine will throw within a tenth. It will meter H4895 just fine. but what I really like is that it is very fast!!! enjoy

How do you make adjustments, say to change the amount thrown from 37.5gr to 39.9gr. You said it takes a little practice to get used to, tell me more.

I haven't used the unit personally, but I've seen it in use at a gun show. I'm not sure how you adjust the powder charge.

I have one and I use it to load my varmint cases, very fast and accurate to .1 gr. You adjust the powder throw by adjusting a set screw on one of the powder tubes that attache to the measure. It basically elongates the tube to allow more powder to drop when the plunger is depressed. It's a very simple mechanical operation. One of the things I like about it when compared to the Culver type powder measures is that it does not cut stick powder. When I use H-4350 in a Culver type measure I always end up cutting powder.

It is quick to use. It comes with a dial indicator so that you can record the set screw dimension with a certain type of powder for a specific weight. After I have set the screw for my desired weight I just pick it up off of a stand that I have for it and I meter it into the funnel and drop tube over each of my cases in the loading block. Very fast and very simple.
