Question for the 6x47L shooters

I am shooting the 105 Lapuas in my rifle and getting great accuracy. My question is has anyone who was shooting the Lapuas switched to the 105 or 108 Bergers and gotten the same or better accuracy? Only reason I ask is because I am getting low on my Lapuas and was looking into the Bergers as they are cheaper. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Peter.

Don't fix what ain't broke!

I hear you but with a baby on the way I have to cut some cost somewhere. I am just looking for another alternative to the Lapuas. I have to keep shooting to keep my sanity.

Based on what I've read, a barrel either likes the Lapuas OR they like the Bergers/Sierra's. Not many find equal accuracy with both. The Lapua's have a smaller diameter, and seem to work better in tighter bores, while the Berger's and Sierra's seem to shoot better in larger bores. (That's the general consensus anyway). What barrel are you using?

As stated previously, you never know until you try. If you don't like the way they shoot, you can sell the partial boxes on this forum. The bullets you're talking about are very popular, so you shouldn't have a hard time getting rid of them.

My 6x47L Krieger 8" twist barrel much prefers the Sierra 107s to the scenars. With almost every load I tried the Sierras were more accurate. Just my experience.

Two different meplats , two different ogives , with some work you can find a load that will shoot equally well with both . Most shooters stop on a load when it shoots to their expectations . Bottom line is a little more venture (or work) and you could have an even more superior load . I shoot both bullets in my 6X47 equally well , the rest is up to me ;) !

In my 26" barrel 39.2 H4350 with an OAL of 2.655" for the Berger 105VLD. Lights out. IT shoots the lapuas great to just a different OAL. I can't remember that OAL though. 1:8" barrels.

I had to take the time to find the correct OAL using bergers technique and ended up moving away from the lands a good way. Same happened with the 115s.

Once I found it though it is extremely consistent.

Can you elaborate on 'Berger's technique' or have a link?
I could use a bit of refinement in my seating strategy.

Thx

Have you tried the nosler custom competition? They are cheap(er) and also run a bit skinny like the lapuas. I have heard some people trash them, but they shot really well in my rifle. I would run them, but I like the DTACs better.
