Hi all, how are you?
I am new here and love how well informed and knowledgeable people on here are and so willing to help out.
so I have submitted specs to one of the reputable reamer companies and had a reply with a print of the reamer I requested.
But I noticed that some specs were changed.
my request was for a .284 Winchester match reamer.
I requested the min chamber length to be 2.165" and the shoulder length to be .281"
those two measurement were changed to 2.175" and .291"
I asked why and they replied to allow more room and allow the brass to stretch.
now this company always seems to come up as top 5 when I search reviews on reamers and I am NOT complaining.
I am just curious as to the advantages of allowing room for the brass to stretch?
I use lapua brass 6.5-284 sized up to 7mm and for some reason it seems I never have to trim that stuff, its always below trim requirements.
I shoot Berger Hybrid targets or Lapua Scenar L
so back to the reamer...is there an advantage for the extra room or should I ask that the specs I requested be done
BTW they were very nice and great communication. by no means where they pushing this. they were suggesting and sent the print for review and changes if I wanted any.
just looking for opinions before I order .
hope I posted in the right area
