Q re Cleaning -- First 5" from Chamber

I'm wondering how important it is to have the first few inches squeaky clean

That it doesn't matter and to quit wondering about it.

ETA: it doesn't matter in my factory Savage. Does it make a difference in a top level SRBR barrel?

Everyone that I shoot short range BR with cleans that first section of the barrel with a soft nylon brush loaded up with a bit of Iosso, every cleaning - after every target.

I dont have as much luck with that stuff as with a bronze brush.

We do bronze brush first, then work the first part of the barrel with Iosso.
