Q for Forum Members -- Increase Bulletin Readership

1. What do I enjoy about the daily bulletin?
GUNS!!
2. What topics would I like to see more of?
GUNS!!
3. Would I like to see daily bulletin articles inserted on forums some how?
No, unless it's a tech article on GUNS with some how to for the DIY folks.
I believe we have a vast wealth of knowledge from members on here that could be tapped into and make some great articles.
4. If you dont visit the daily bulletin, is there a reason? Or have I just never clicked the link?
Oh I click on it a few times a week
Specially on Sunday GUN-day.

It is always an available tab on my browser just like the forum. I check it daily and find the variety and mix of articles fantastic.
I do not think it needs to be in the forums but if you feel that would draw more readers than I am fine with it.
thank you @Forum Boss for all you do

I'd like the Bulletin to have more about different ranges and what they have to offer. Think that may help bring more shooters out to have a try at different disciplines. Pictures are a must. Oh I get asked a lot about is you range open to the public. A lot of shooter just want to see if they can hit something at 1000 Yards.

I find many good articles in the bulletin and refer to it as a library many times.

I have noticed a lot of the posted in the bulletin does not have a date listed on when it was published. I think this would be very helpful for all articles.

Forum Boss: EVERY Bulletin article has a date. Upper left hand corner. But, yes, it is small and not easy to notice. SEE:

I check it on Mondays, sometimes more frequently. I think a way to increase readership would be to move it to the MAIN MESSAGE BOARD in the forums, as the first article to be read. Just a suggestion. Thanks for everything.

Okay, I'm going to assume that there is a difference between the home page and the Daily Bulletin. The Daily Bulletin is part of the home page that you click on to get additional information. The Daily Bulletin is primarily just advertising that I'm not much interested in. The cartridge guide and articles on the home page are of interest. The cartridge guide needs expanded and updated.

Forum Boss: Thanks for your comment. The Daily Bulletin actually has a wide collection of content, over 10,000 articles now. In terms of layout, less than 5% of the space is used for ads, but the ads are concentrated near the top.

I look forward to reading the Bulletin everyday and it’s usually the first thing that I read when I log on to Accurate Shooter. I really can’t think of a thing that I don’t like about the Bulletin, but I truly enjoy the articles that are presented. I’m sure that I will be happy with whatever you do to increase readership.

All helpful suggestions. Thank you guys.

We will consider linking stories in the main Forum area. And we are thinking about a preview window somewhere.

One word about the Cartridge Guides. Huge, huge amount of work. Probably 200 man-hours per cartridge to do this right for a new Guide, 80-100 man-hours for a thorough update. Yes we would like to expand to additional cartridge types and make updates, but honestly that could be a full-time position, just for that task.

Most members of the Forum have enjoyed our major resource articles, such as the Cartridge Guides.

And we know many members regularly read the Daily Bulletin. But we want to increase readership.

I have some questions for Forum members, and would be interested in your responses to one or more of these questions.

1. What do you enjoy most in the Daily Bulletin?

2. What topics/content would increase your interest in the Bulletin?

3. Would you like to see Bulletin Articles displayed inside the Forum somehow?

4. If you don't visit the Bulletin, is there a reason? Or have you just never clicked the link?

The reason for these questions, is that the editorial side of AccurateShooter.com is very important, and we want to increase readership among our Forum members. That can help us strengthen the site and provide more benefits to our members -- including product discounts and technical articles.
Paul i read it every day. The reason , to learn something or help someone. For me this site is the BEST place to learn. I can,t count the tricks i have learned here. The product hacks are what i enjoy. Tommy Mc

The daily bulletin is my first stop in the morning. Don't read every article, but usually something catches my eye. Would like to thank all who make it possible. Also, whenever I in the market for a shooting related product, the advertisers here are my first stop. Again, thank you, for your efforts on this site.
Same for me, check it every morning before going to the forum.

1. What do you enjoy most in the Daily Bulletin?

The "tech" articles are interesting to me.

I, too, don't generally buy due to advertisements, so more of that sort of stuff is just something I'll skip over. But when it's informative about some new advancement, or change in the kinds of benchrest-oriented shooting products we deal with, here as a forum community, then it's something I'll at least glance at or read thoroughly. (Much like any shooting magazine, more or less.)

2. What topics/content would increase your interest in the Bulletin?

Awareness of who's done what, lately, in shooting competitions or new product advancements, or such. Those would be interesting to keep up with.

Write-ups about someone's rig, how it shoots, what's good/bad about it, how they're pushing the envelope, how they find various aspects (ie, reloading, or scope competency) aid them in improving ... those things are interesting to me.

3. Would you like to see Bulletin Articles displayed inside the Forum somehow?

Most all of my time is spent on the forum proper. A sub-forum area that notifies of new articles and "hot" topics over on the Bulletin might be appropriate. That way, someone can "watch" the area and see when new topics arrive, perhaps participate in a discussion on that topic or article.

Currently, though, it's a menu link, and that's easy enough to click on. Works fine. If a person wants to create a thread in the forum to discuss a new Bulletin entry, they do. Easy enough, and it doesn't require any further admin steps at the forum level to maintain.

I read it every day. I hate Mondays because most of the time I end up buying something!. LOL. The only change I would like is to be able to comments/questions on each article.

Forum Boss: To post a comment on any Bulletin article, click the "Post Comment" button in the gray bar at the end of the article. We should make that more accessible.

We definitely appreciate all your hard work and efforts to keep this site up and running for us. Nowhere else can this quality be found.

1. What do you enjoy most in the Daily Bulletin? New cartridge info and new techy stuff.

2. What topics/content would increase your interest in the Bulletin? Same as above with "How to" instructions.

3. Would you like to see Bulletin Articles displayed inside the Forum somehow? I think a new bulletin article displayed weekly would be great.

Maybe make a link on the Forum as the first topic in the forum and probably lock it for comments, but if you leave it open you would get more feed back..

Boss, you are running a good thing here, you deserve a lot of praise. The only thing I would like to see is a "delete" on the classifieds. I don't have time or patience to look past page 20 or what ever. May be that over priced, rusty 'Ted Williams' 22 will sell after it hits page 20 or so. Instead of our member friends marking the ads 'sold' they should just be deleted, is automatic delete a possibility. Of course the call is yours, just a suggestion. Stay safe, keep up the good work, George.

I've stopped visiting much. When I first started this hobby, it was very helpful. I say I visit once every two weeks now.

As others have mentioned, the cartridge guides are dated (newer popular powder and projectiles missing) or don't cover newer cartridges or calibers (more .30 cal magnums, .a 338 category, newer 7mm offerings, etc.).

I understand there is a lot of work involved, so please don't think the content offered is not appreciated. If you want to know why I don't go there much, this is one reason.
