Q for Forum Members -- Increase Bulletin Readership

Forum Boss

Administrator
Most members of the Forum have enjoyed our major resource articles, such as the Cartridge Guides.

And we know many members regularly read the Daily Bulletin. But we want to increase readership.

I have some questions for Forum members, and would be interested in your responses to one or more of these questions.

1. What do you enjoy most in the Daily Bulletin?

2. What topics/content would increase your interest in the Bulletin?

3. Would you like to see Bulletin Articles displayed inside the Forum somehow?

4. If you don't visit the Bulletin, is there a reason? Or have you just never clicked the link?

The reason for these questions, is that the editorial side of AccurateShooter.com is very important, and we want to increase readership among our Forum members. That can help us strengthen the site and provide more benefits to our members -- including product discounts and technical articles.

I enjoy reading it daily.
One thing, maybe include more in the "cartridge guide"
Lots of new and more main stream calibers that I'd like to see more info on
and diagrams. Example.
I know Imp. cartridges will have different prints.
Just to get an idea.
You could post 2-3 links on a specific topic by 2-3 different
members here. That way you'd get maybe a different point
of view on a subject. Instead of searching on boobtube.
Every day pick a different topic.

The Dailey Bulletin is a great cross section of news and products that are relevant to the kinds of people who love the accuracy games. I think they have been great.

2. What topics/content would increase your interest in the Bulletin?

I am clearly not the issue since I still read it. I think the articles written by respected gunsmiths, competitors, and inventors were what first drew me to the web site long ago. I would keep those up as a standard. I know it is hard to replace folks with this talent when they go over the horizon. German's articles were a good example of excellent content, good photography, graphics, and writing. A tough guy to replace for sure.

3. Would you like to see Bulletin Articles displayed inside the Forum somehow?

Your call. I look at them anyway.

4. If you don't visit the Bulletin, is there a reason? Or have you just never clicked the link?

N/A for me. I have been reading them for years.

1. I like the variety. 2. More Tech articles. Including those from outside the US. Laurie does a great job from the UK, maybe some from Aus/NZ. just to see what everyone does different or the same. 3. N/A. 4. NA.

I enjoy some of the Tech articles, I also don't mind articles where new precision shooting products are announced/released. The cartridge guide definitely needs to be updated - with regard to cartridges already listed, there have been new bullet releases and powders which have been used in winning rifles. And then there are some other cartridges like the 300wsm which get talked about a bit, but there's no low-level detail on it. Same goes for links to action manufacturers, barrel manufacturers (some have fallen by the wayside such as Broughton/Pac-Nor).

I also would like to see more of the cartridge guide with different calibers.

The daily bulletin is my first stop in the morning. Don't read every article, but usually something catches my eye. Would like to thank all who make it possible. Also, whenever I in the market for a shooting related product, the advertisers here are my first stop. Again, thank you, for your efforts on this site.

When I joined these forums, I set my bookmark for it. Originally
I would check out the Bulletin then click on forums prior to joining.
Now that I'm a member, my bookmark is direct to the forums,
bypassing the Bulletin. Probably quite a few are set up that way.
Maybe at the top of the forum page put an "In Your Face" Picture
link to it and one that shows the newest article ??

I used to check the bulletin every day or so when I had a desk job. I always enjoyed it, but that was years ago. Nowadays, I mostly use a smart phone and just don't think to go there. One thing I think would be good would be posting on there when shipments of reloading components at the major retailers show up on their respective websites. During these times of shortage, that could be quite helpful.

I always liked the interviews/featurettes of winning shooters, their rifles, and their processes as well.

1. I read it at least once a week. I like the "how to" articles the best.
2. I would like to see more articles on bench rest shooting techniques.
3. No. The bulletin is very easy to access, we don't need it in the forum.
4. If I run out of time, I won't get to the Bulletin. It doesn't happen often, I retired.

I’m a weekly reader. It’s a great way to keep abreast of what’s new in terms of product offerings and firearm related industry news.

Perhaps there’s a way to include links in the forum threads to subject related articles that appear in the bulletin?

1. What do you enjoy most in the Daily Bulletin?

The variety, there is something for everyone.

2. What topics/content would increase your interest in the Bulletin?

Can't think of anything to add, you cover things pretty well.

3. Would you like to see Bulletin Articles displayed inside the Forum somehow?

Definitely NOT! It would just clutter up the forums. The bulletin link is listed just below the forum. If a person can't find it - they are beyond help.

4. If you don't visit the Bulletin, is there a reason? Or have you just never clicked the link?

I visit it daily.

Beyond help here, Lol!
I look at my I-phone a lot, when I have it turned up vertical the Bulletin button doesn’t even appear on the screen. I don’t think it would clutter up the forums if one blue bar with it was slipped in between Top Level Forums and the Marketplace.

What if you had members expand on what you had. The cartridge guide for instance talks about lots of calibers mainly from a competitive or target shooting point of view. I don't shoot competitively beyond a local fun match but I love to shoot and hunt. What about some user written content about using those same cartridges in a hunting scenario? It can be added to the cartridge guide or create a sperate section all together. Just an idea.

I Read the bulletin almost daily. I never miss a Monday. Checking for the deals of the week. I think you should keep the topics varied to appeal to more readers. More cartridges could be covered like the 6x47 Lapua and 300 WSM. Etc.

I think putting a link on the forums page could help increase reads has it would be there as a reminder to read it.

You are doing a great job keep up the great work. Also I found a new website that has primers Varget and H4350 in stock. They take PayPal and Zelle. Seem legit to you. Lol.
