Purchasing reloading brass

Hello.
Quick question. I haven't had a need to buy new brass in at least 6 yrs..i kind of have what i need.
I was looking at a rifle in a caliber i dont own yet so i search for brass availability
(IS ALL BRASS SOLD IN LOTS OF 50? NOW)
since when did this crap start..is brass a freaking precious commodity now.
just how much are people willing to pay before they say the hell with this..time for new hobby.
who the hell buys brass in little bags of 50 that isnt 50 BMG.. thats just gay, ans stupid
Thank god i dont need primers.
Does any one carry bulk brass..or is evey one acting likes ( oh its run out, we cant possibly keep up with demands) ..more BS..they kept up with demand just fine durring times of war..now they sit on there ass and run out. Is that what we are to believe .tell me another one
Oh im sure some clown has a pointless convoluted explanation that leads no place but the beginning of another lie.

What caliber? Brand?

I dont know , just guessing. You talk about wartime brass. The govt. pays all the expenses on it. Labor, materials , all costs. I imagine its hard to find a private company that will pay overtime if they dont have to. I agree its been a bitch. Lake City had way more capacity than alot of private plants. I hope Im not the clown with a pointless explanation . I dont have an explanation . I dont like it either. Doug

Starline direct is your friend. Rifle brass in listed cartridges available in 250, 500, and 1000 count lots with free shipping. The only rub is the selection is not all inclusive. No .222 Rem mag No 25-06 Rem No 280 Rem AI or several others but what they do produce is of the highest quality. The prices are very reasonable, except to a few Ripp Van Winkles. LOL!

Thank you..i appreciate the bulk tip. Thats what im talking about...
Oh..and to the smart ass inflation comment..the only folks who are regurgitating that old song and dance are the slime balls pice gouging.
You think its some secret..its not inflation..15% is inflation..75% is greed..choke on it

Yes, single lot is the best and I always endeavor to purchase as such. However, it's not a big deal in my experience unless you are loading for the ultra-precision game like bench rest competition.

I just purchased two 50 round bags of Hornaday brass locally, so I was able to obtain a single lot. The last time I checked, Remington and Winchester were packaged in 100 round bags. Starline also and even more. However, Remington is my last resort option. Winchester seems more consistent but at the expense of about 2 to 5% defective cases that can't be reloaded. Starline seem the more consistent of these three.

Given that some fellows routinely use range brass, going with virgin brass even if it is a different lot number has to be miles ahead of the range brass crowd.

I’m guessing you been living wayyyyyyyyy off grid for decades!… Lapua doesn’t sell in bags there in boxes of 100 and yes inflation is 100% real! I live right beside ATK and used to work there. There at 100% capacity on all products including primers!….

Some shops will give a discount when buying multiple bags.
If it's for a hunting rifle and Lapua carries it a box of 100 will most likely last the life of the rifle.
Others like Norma, Alpha etc that come in boxes of 50 just order multiple units what's the big deal.?

Yeah guys ..im no poet, and when im passionate about something i dont like it F#$k with..you know what i mean..it just gets old.and im at that age when my social filters are worn out and full of holes..so i say whats on my mind.
Its not always popular. I apologize .
I thought i was looking at a box of those threaded hornady case measures , when i seen the price..not hornady brass. Hahaha.
And ive only ever seen boxes of 50pc reloading brass for something like 338 weatherby mag or something kind of special..
Now all of a sudden oh its all sooo special..
the shelves are full at all the guns ahops in my area..absolutely no shortage of anything but employee.
i wanted to check and makes sure this was a legit thing.
Remember when there was a 22lr shortage . One week is was 16$ for a box of federal 333bullets..then the shelves were empty..then stores actually sold them in baggies of 25 bullets per customer in our area.. next thing ya know the shelves are stocled up and it 45$ a box..
I wouldnt put it past some one to buy brass in bulk and try selling it in baggies of 25 next..
Like those folks who bought up all the toilet paper during covid in some town.
I simply wont buy it..thats simple..its better to leave more for a fellow shooter then it is for me to sit at the reloading bench in a bad mood..that simply is not allowed and unacceptable..
how could any one be in a bad mood reloading.
Maybe start in a bad mood but finishe calm, cool, and collected.
thanks guys

Not that it makes any difference but I think my comment about lake city not having not paying any expenses was wrong. When I first went to work it was cost plus. Then you had to bid the contract to run the plant. I think it is still like that. Sorry for the misinformation . Doug

And now that LC just tore down some buildings that were producing ammo and stuffing the machines into the other buildings that were making ammo is going to cause even more disruption to available ammo. They are building a new building to house the making of the new 277 round. Instead of moving to the empty part of the property to build the new building, they tear down the existing building and start it on the same spot.

Govt in action.

So are you just venting at the new normal or do you actually want the facts?

they're in boxes,,,,,,, used to work there,,,,,, They're at 100%............ Had to do it.........

Look at sage reloading supply. They carry bulk brass. A lot of once fired stuff. Probably not cheap like you are used to, but their pricing seems good.

I see the problem, you're looking for 338 weatherby mag. That's an imaginary cartridge! :D
