Misser,I could not help my self .have been using the RCBS press for maybe 35 years ,before that a Lyman . ordered a MEC ,tracking shows it will be here in a few days .mixed feeling about letting the rcbs go.
It works perfectlyonly thing I wonder about is the shell holder mechanism
I figured a 40 yrs old Rockchucker didn't owe me anything, it's been used and abused, no doubt it will again. Was in the mood to replace it, seen the MEC around for a while, like it better than the Rebel or another Rockchucker. Already have a Co-Ax, so the floating shellholder wasn't a new thing to me, seems like a plus, and it does what it's supposed to do, spent primer handling is a plus as well. I'm impressed with how smooth it is, like the access better than the Rockchucker too. Overall, it's a good buy.
looked it up, ya i see why you could like it . my press is more or less mounted on the left side of my bench so any open flat area is to the right. most of the seating of bullets is done there with L E Wilson seating die's and hydro press. The mec is super smooth and has lots of leverage....
Get the inline roller handle and it's a Cadillac!!! It moves the handle even more out of the way, more leverage, smoother, and gives great access to the press.
You better stick with the Mec or stay with your Rockchuckerlookie what I found

It is delightful.only thing I wonder about is the shell holder mechanism
No. I think a Bigger Bench mat help.Is it possible to have too many presses?
I think not.
I replaced a worn out RCBS turret press with the MEC Marskman and Hornady LNL bushings. Have about 1500 rounds through it and love it. The floating shell holder is the only thing I don't care for. Too "floating" and sloppy, I'll be doing something to stiffen it up this winter.
No way to put a small rubber band around the shell holder?I replaced a worn out RCBS turret press with the MEC Marskman and Hornady LNL bushings. Have about 1500 rounds through it and love it. gee I only have 7Is it possible to have too many presses?
I think not.
Not sure what you mean. That's the one thing that makes this press desirable. All the work is done in the die. This allows the case to always align with the die. No chance of ever binding.
