PTG reamer turn around.

I remember seeing something about Kiff setting up a "custom shop" for fast turn around on custom reamers. Is this something he is working on or was this my imagination?

It is not a dream but a reality.I dont know if they are up and running that part but a quick call would be the fastest way of knowing and do post what they said please.

Good luck, I was told a reamer was on the shelf and it took three calls and four weeks. Finnally Dave's wife got it to me.

I ordered my 284 Shehane reamer from Kiff and they said 4-6 weeks away.. I ordered it and my barrel is not going to make it til May, so I called them back and paid $100.00 dollars more and it will be here tomorrow. They will ship within 48-72 hours of a "paid extra for expedited" reamer... They are excellent people to deal with. If you need your reamer quick, call "CeCe" at PT&G and she will "expedite" that reamer for you!!

My custom 6.5x47 Lapua AI came in today, seems like it was only a few weeks ago that I ordered it...
CeCe sure gets stuff done....

So $100 greasing their palm is all it took, ay? Thanks for letting us know this. But isn't it funny how we don't see anybody advertising; "Just pay us $100 more and we will jump you to the front of the line and expedite your order." Maybe that wouldn't go over too big with some folks. But if you don't mind throwing around your money, how about for $200 I'll show up at your door dressed as a Chippendale?

Well I am quite sure you could show up being like a "Chippendale Guy" but you can be also quite sure you would be the only one around. Oh and I don't consider "throwing money around" by getting what I want, when I need

No luck with reamers from PTG. After four times trying I thought last time I'd made it. The ETA for delivery was four weeks. Well a few days after my four weeks I contacted Yvette by email. No reamer. In fact she said I don't have your Bankcard info. I asked her to refer to my email. Any questions or concerns contact me at this phone number. The conversation and service went down hill from there. Finally I told her I'd do like I did 4 times before and take my business to JGS.

I can't say enough bad things about PTG's lack of quality service.

CeCe is not bad on the eyes too. I stood beside her at the shot show for 4 days. She is a very dedicated PT&G employee. Kathleen is the boss of the sales ladies and can straighten out any confusion in an order. Dave Kiff gets several hundred call every day. They have gone from a small company to a major firearms manufactures resource. They are still a great company to deal with. They now have more than 200 employees and a new 300,000 foot building across the street from their original plant. They make quality tooling and will stand behind anything they make.

If only she responded to email... or voicemail... or live, on-the-phone-requests to send a confirmation or updated print of a change you requested to a reamer print.

I've mostly only had good interactions with PTG, so I'm not too upset about it. But, it is annoying.

It seems to me they are VERY busy. Only so many hours in the day and the customer service for the little guy that doesn't " expedite" his orders is less than exemplary, IME. I called Manson the other day and they are 6 months out, FWIW.

If you aren't a patient person or lack of advanced planning, don't order a Henreiksen reamer, LOL

Just a simple fact, its impossible to please everyone!

So is the $100 extra thing the quick turn around part or has that not happened yet? I think there was an article in the daily bulletin about it.

I ordered a 6x47L Improved reamer and Gauge to suit about 4 weeks ago. I'm hoping that I hear in the next few weeks about it.

Over the past 5 months I've placed 4 orders with PT&G. Two custom reamers were part of the orders placed and they showed up under 6 weeks.

Of the many chambering reamers I've bought from PTG, they have always delivered within their estimate at the time the order was placed, of 4 to 6 weeks.

I'm having a bit of an issue with delivery of a one piece replacement bolt for a Remington 700 SA, but that's another story.

Alex When Dana ,Mitt and I went to gun smith school, we order some different reamers
John our teacher had them in 72 hours. When I was experimenting with all the 6mm 72 hr was the norm. a few them I also got a die reamer also. I never question the up charge. Try to get a special Barrel that way. 6 weeks is small . Larry

My experience with PTG is opposite of most. 4-6 is always quoted, I think they mean months? Its been over 6 months since I sent in some dummy rounds for a 6-284 reamer. Called them 3 weeks ago and was told it would be to my place in a week, haven't seen it yet.
I have ordered several reamers from them and would say 5-7 months is about right. Have requested reamer prints with every reamer and never seen a one. 3 months ago they were going to pull my reamer cards and send the prints, nothing yet.
On a positive note, there reamers always match my specs and work great.
