PTG price increase at Midwayusa???

Anyone else notice the substantial price increase on PTG products at Midwayusa? I've purchased several floating pilot PTG reamers from them for around $120 and I've been very pleased. Well...I just checked and most of the floating pilot reamers are now $200 - $220!

I checked PTG's website and the prices don't appear to have increased. I also checked Grizzly and the prices haven't gone up there either.

Ouch, I just ordered a new 6.5x47L direct from PTG a few weeks ago and it was a lot less than that.

I remember finding out about Midway along time ago. (I believe the 70's) Prices were really cheap. They also had a good selection. Now I see they are not so cheap anymore. They have more of a selection available, but I believe the prices went way up except for when they have some sales. Matt

After my last purchase of 2015, I sent an email confirming the fact
that I would NEVER do business w/them again. Their office staff is a
TRAIN WRECK. They still owe me $26.00 which I will probably never get.
Its a shame that Dave is letting his KNOW NOTHING office personnel trash
his business. LDS

PTG reamers are junk. Not sure why anyone would still be buying them. Their cutting edge sucks, cant make a reamer to spec, and their customer service is a joke. I had a PTG 6.5x47 reamer that the throat was .035 shorter than what it was supposed to be. Ive used JGS for quite a while now and the chambers are noticeably better with the naked eye. They are also cut exactly to spec. A bore scope reveals a night and day difference.

You are right. Their quality control since he expanded just totally sucks.

I`ve had problems with them too.....

I've been shopping around for a 223 AI go gauge....No way am I forking over $50 bucks for a PTG gauge. They must not sell very many for that price.

I had never heard of a "GO" gauge for the Ackleys until I saw them listed by MidWay or whoever. P.O. didn't use one. The "GO" becomes the "NO-GO", as we know. Depending on make of the action I go by where the bolt handle is with the "NO-GO" (I mean "go"gauge that's now the "no-go" gauge) in the chamber. About half way down on a Mauser '98, not quite half way down on a Rem. 700. Final check is to put a new piece of brass in the chamber and 'feel' how much resistance there is closing the bolt. Bottom line, I think PT&G came up with these as just another way to make money. I guess a guy could always buy two "GO" gauges. Use one for the "NO-GO" and take the other to the tool & cutter grinder and grind .004" off the base (the surface that'd be against the bolt face) and use it for the "GO". That sounds like more bother than I'd go to, though.

I know, I needed a range rod and PTG didn't have one in stock, Midway charged me like 10 bucks more, I couldn't believe it.
Tarey

I needed a set of reamer bushings, I called PTG and the girl at the front desk told me they were made to order item now, and it would be 6 weeks. Anyone heard of this before?

Its true Dave has expanded beyond his control and Larry (midway) needs more in his account. We are all gonna swap to JGS probably then they will go thru the melt down PTG is suffering from :)
