Thanks that is what I was looking forFriend of mine bought one of their "custom shop" 700's - Came with an RAR serial action and what I assume is a PTG bolt. It looks a lot like the regular 700 bolt but there are minor differences that a nerd can identify, including a sako style extractor.
It's the best 700 action I've ever seen. Everything was straight, the action face was machined smooth, lugs were square, etc. Didn't require any cutting on my part.
If you need a 700 for a specific project, it is the one to get. If it doesn't have to be a 700, I'd look at something else.
So, I know you're not getting anything out of this, just curious. In your opinion, worth the entry fee? i bought a blue SA from ptg a few years ago. It has been the most accurate cf rifle i have ever had(6br) . ive never had a custom. the bolt handle did fall off one day and sent it to dan for repair. i still have it and its still a 1/4 minute rifle at 100 with 2K rounds on it. its getting long in the tooth now and a replacement is about ready. its provided me with many good times on the range.Has anybody used Remington 700 action with the PTG bolt or bought one of the same recently ?
I know good custom action = better choice dollar wise but I am building a legacy rifle ( USMC )
Looking for feed back
Thx
