I received a stainless barreled tactical action today from PT&G that has a blued bolt without firing pin ass., ejector or extractor. It has a 20" barrel that has a threaded end and is different than anything I have seen. Has anyone seen this muzzle before?

Tenon is .750----thread diam is .50----is 223 cal. Barrel is marked Remington Arms.

Yeah. The .750 tenon was/is for the base for an 'aperture' front sight.
In 'over the course' competition, before scopes were allowed, all match rifles used front and rear aperture sights. They were actually kinda cool to use. Great sight picture.

Some competitors still have rifles with aperture sights and use them from time to time.

In mid and long range competitions, at many matches, you must use 'iron sights' to be in competition.

It was/is very unusual for someone using iron sights to have flash hider or a break, but, looks like PTG is trying to cover all the bases.
