It seems to me that if any MD that does not know the differences between categories and classifications and does not treat them appropriately ought to be removed from the position by the club. Since F-Class is recognized by the NRA as a separate class and NRA Registered match would be in violation of the rules and therefore any participant can file a protest form (see below). The MD may well be jeopardizing the validity of any records set during the match, because the whole match was not conducted according to the NRA rules. Those rules specifically say that awards have to be distributed.
I'm the mid-range match director here at Bayou Rifle in Houston. I've only been involved in competition for the last 4 years, two years (in October) as a MD. I The previous MD was a sling shooter. During the whole time there have been awards for 5 different categories, (sling) Service Rifle, (sling) Match Rifle, Scoped (sling) Target Rifle, F-TR and F-Open.
During most matches the Effers make up at least half and most times 3/4 of the shooters. So not to recognize them is like biting your nose.....
Kindest regards,
Joe
