PRS Action - Impact 737 or Kelbly Atlas Tactical?

I haven't purchased an action yet, but I've made a decision which way I'm going to go when I have the cash. I had the Benchmark barrel chambered for an Impact 737.

One more question for the gang - I've seen references made to the Impact 737 and the Impact 737R. Is there a difference? Is the "R" just stating that it's a right bolt & eject?

I'm not sure if the OP has made his decision yet, but I built a PRS rifle for my GF using an Atlas several yrs ago and I never took it off the bench to a match.
The cases would get stuck in the bolt face while trying to eject unless you slammed the bolt back. I was sent one of the Heavy Duty ejectors at no charge but I didn't like the idea of not being able to pull the bolt without tools. I also wasn't confident it would fix the issue because even with the bolt out of the gun, it took quite a bit of force to tip a case out of the bolt face. I didn't want to chance her having problems at a match, plus I was out of time so I ordered another Impact to match the one I had run the year before and never looked back.

I recut the barrel before the new ejector arrived, so I don't know if it would have fixed it or not.
The action appeared really nicely made, especially considering the mid level pricing, but the nitriding had the roughest texture I've ever felt. You can hear the grating noise in the vid. The flutes on the bolt were very sharp also. Enough so that the bolt would drag the next cartridge in the mag back and forth and leave deep scratches in the case. I always kind of thought the rough nitriding played a part in making the cases stick in the bolt face also.

Anyway, Impacts are king in the PRS world. You can walk up to any staging area at a 2 day match and find more of them in 1 spot than you'll see Kelbleys in an entire year.

Curious as to what caliber you were running. I had the same issue with mine with the 6BRA. The heavy-duty stop took care of it. Kelbly's sent a "tool less" knurled
piece for bolt removal. Interesting that everyone that has run mine, PMS shooters included, have all commented how slick it runs. I agree, not many on the line though.

I wouldn't get wrapped around what websites are calling it, it's the same action.
They only have the 737R(short action) and recently the 787R(long action)

Both come in right and left hand.
737R also comes in two flavors of mag cuts. AW and a nonAW cut for standard ai mags.

That one was a dasher. The vid kind of makes it look like it was hitting the back of the ejection port, but it wasn't.
There wasn't anything slick about that one, although it may have improved with some break in.

Man that doesn't look anything like my Atlas Tactical. The nitride is slick and polish smooth like glass. It runs like glass. I have 1800+ rounds on it and the nitride is still almost 100% my Impact nitride is definitely not as smooth and the color has worn quickly.

My Atlas with regular bolt stop puts brass wherever you want based on how hard you run the bolt. Shooting from a bench or prone I run it light abd put it in a neat little pile. Run it real soft if I don't want it going anywhere. Hard will definitely fling it out of the gun.

Impact it doesn't seem to matter. It send em out.

I like both actions. But for the money, the Atlast is IMO hard to beat. Probably can't be beat IMO.
