Maybe “Meat Grinder”, or if that‘s 6 flutes, then “Deep 6”. Or, maybe there’s something unique to the flute radius, twist rate, etc. that would lend to the name?

Working on a really cool and aggressive style of fluting. First attempt in aluminum just to get something in metal. Maybe a little more twist or not? Open to all comments and suggestions . Need a cool name as well.... Let me know what you guys think!

I think it looks good. If you are looking for something else, how about a tighter pattern ............... REALLY tighter (maybe)

My spare 40X and Tikka T3 bolts done in similar style. My gunsmith buddy can whip them out on his CNC mill.



These were done a while ago and he now prefers to have a longitudinal ramp out on the flutes as it looks better

Nice. I am using a sort of side or gear cutter that generally will give a much better finish. Good to have friends with cool CNC toys!

Funny you should say that- he too now uses exactly that sort of cutter and the surface finish is waaay better. Mine are rough in comparison.

I agree. Really "slicks" the bolt travel up in my experience.
