Proto-Type Bolt Fluting

Call me stupid, but please do tell.... A) is there more then a cosmetic reason? B) 4th axis with a canned cycle?
" bolt splashing"
Bolt will cycle very smoothly due to very little bearing surface. I have fluted quite a few for the PRS shooters who, quite often, shoot in a lot of grit and grime. The flutes give the muck somewhere to go.

Ok, I'm gonna be the troglodyte here.... I think it's too much of a good thing, unless you're making the bolt for a super lite action and rifle. I don't see any need for such aggressive fluting otherwise.

Not for everyone that's for sure. I appreciate your input. Just thinking outside the box.

Maybe “Meat Grinder”, or if that‘s 6 flutes, then “Deep 6”. Or, maybe there’s something unique to the flute radius, twist rate, etc. that would lend to the name?
