Protektor front bag question

Hi all,

Just got a protektor #9 front bag prefilled but it doesn't seem to fit stock right. It seems that there is too much sand in it. The middle is humped up and the bottom is swelled down. I am not an experienced benchrest shooter and I could be wrong on this, but I'm tempted to take some sand out of it and see if it fits better.
Has anyone had similar experiences with prefilled bags?

AK, My experience has been that when you buy a prefilled bag, it is way overfilled. Take some sand out until you get the shape/feel that you like.

Most folks use the #1, 2 and 3 bags. #3 being used more by those of us who shoot short range 'B'enchrest, and more these days with Cordura as the preferred material. What was the rationale that precipitated #9 as a choice? What type rifle and forearm width?

Experimenting with various fills will eventually determine the best fit. Here's a good guide that will supplement your testing: http://benchrest.netfirms.com/Filling%20Sandbags.htm
