Prometheus scale- whats the accuracy?

single kernel over hundreds of rounds for me (gen 2). the cycle is typically 12 - 14 seconds per charge. If you have the money and value your time (assuming standing for long periods at a bench and trickling powder is not something you value highly), it's worth every penny. I was a long time detractor based on price, but I'm definitely on the bandwagon now.

Thank you Jay. Im wondering tho if it will weigh the same over hundreds when weighed like on a sartorius. Just wondering if it has gem pro accuracy or sartorius accuracy down to the kernel?

I'm not sure how to compare the two. Keep in mind that the Promethus isn't a weighing scale - it's a dispenser. It's dispensing the same charge weight over and over (you have to adjust it to dispense the required charge weight). Once you set it to dispense a certain weight, it will dispense that charge weight each and every time, within a kernel. When I first got it, I checked it religiously against my GD503. I never caught a single charge that was not correctly dispensed within a single kernel of required weight. I don't even bother now.

Being a digital device being used in non-lab conditions, even the GD503 will drift over a long enough period of time and will need to be re-calibrated periodically.

On a final note - I really can't overstate the time savings. With a GD503 and an Omega trickler, I can generally produce a weighed and tricked charge every 30 seconds or so on average. Sometimes faster and sometimes slower depending on whether I accidentally over-trickle or dump too much/too little powder. The Prometheus, as I stated earlier, produces the exact same charge, every time, every 12 - 14 seconds, which is literally faster than I can prime, dump, seat, and check each loaded round. It's usually waiting on me, rather than the other way around. So, I'm producing ~5 rounds with the Prometheus in the same time it took me to produce 2 rounds with my weigh/trickle method.

Thanks Jay......
Your reviews are enough for me. Now I have to add it to my "wish list".

What's the process on obtaining one and is there a waiting list?

I got on the list by contacting Brand Cole directly. Order placed early March last year...still waiting.

Apparently it's a lease, not purchase (didn't see that mentioned above for those who may be unaware).

How much is it to lease one, and after 25 years what happens? Or is that when the patent runs out then you get to keep it?

A friend of mine got on the list last year. He said Brad basically interviews each potential lessee to decide if you are indeed worthy.
Does leasing a GenII allow you to trade-up when newer models/features are developed?

Am I right in thinking that at the heart of the Prometheus is just a humble beam scale? (Albeit a good one)

Yeah, it's a 25 year lease. I'll admit I was not entirely happy with that... but, I called and talked to Brand about it. I definitely recommend doing so if that throws you at all. It's basically a way for him to prevent it being used for commercial purposes.

I bought mine a couple of years ago after procrastinating about the purchase/lease cost for longer than I should have. Once I received it and started using it I regretted not parting with my hard earned money along time ago. If you break it down you are looking at a cost of $10.00 per month to use!
If you can afford it go for it you will not regret it. The Prometheus is everything Jay said about it and more.
