What is the difference in Federal Match and regular Federal small primer. Does it make a differenc when shooting the 107 sierra match king. Another will the Remington Benchrest small primer work.Any information will be helpful.

The only difference in a match primer and a regular primer is quality control. They take a lot more time getting everything right with the match primers. They both have the same mix. Different make primers can make a load more accurate or it can make it worse. The only way to find out is to try them. Some of the most consistent primers going now days are the Wolf and they run under $20.00 a thousand. Go figure?

The 7 1/2 Remington primers work very well, but for the price I'll stick with the better
Russians SRM's

I've been told by a pretty reliable source that the only difference is they have someone look to make sure the anvil is present on the "match" primers. So now I just buy the regular fed primers and when I open the box I look for myself to anoint them "MATCH".

In my BAT3L 260Rem with a Keiger barrel, the Fed match primers give a SLIGHTLY better ES and SD,5 vs.6)over the regular Federals. Most of the time I use the regular ones.
