Primer Seater

Started with an RCBS about 15 years ago, they sent me new parts for free as they wore out. Finally I said ENOUGH, bought a Sinclair.

Haven't looked back since.

Yes it's a 'single-shot' so if you're into volume reloading it'll slow you down (use a progressive!!) but as I shoot mostly single-shots (and been weighing primers too this year) it's tolerable.

You buy a Sinclair seater, use a little blue Loktite on the pivot pin setscrew before you get up to speed, and add a little lube to the ram head where it rides the seater stem you're running....

has anyone used the Hornady hand priming tool? If so what are your thoughts?

I have two Hornady hand priming tools because I got tired of switching back and forth between large and small. It's the only priming tool I've ever used, it works well for me so I never looked further. I'm an F-Class competitor, so I generally load in 100 batches, the tray makes it easy, fast and consistent.

If one of mine were to break today, I would buy another within ten minutes.

I have two of the RCBS hand priming tools. One is set up for the large primers and the other is set up for the small primers. I replaced my Lee hand primers with the RCBS units when the Lee wore out.
I like the trays that fit the primer boxes because I never have to touch a primer. That leaves one more place for contamination out of the equation.

Thanks, that's good info, I shoot for fun at 600 to 1000 and a fair amount of PD. So that's helpful.
