Primer prices coming down

I believe in the next couple of days I'll make the 100 mile trip to Widden's and pick up some powder. I shoot alot of VV133. May as well stock up. Thinking of trying some VV160 in my .243.

Remember that Hodgdon imports most of those powders. Subject to world trade policies. Only a few of their powders are made at the military plant.

Vihtavouri also suffers due to those same issues, since it is an imported commodity, as well as military demands on their powder production capabilities.

Then add in the source of nitrocellulose and how the world market screws with that production.

I've been going to Widden's twice a year since this powder primer hike up has been going on. I usually pick up 2-3 8lb. jugs and some. 22lr ammo. My last trip was just before the price on the powders went up $15.00 an 8lb jug. I'm referring to 133, 135, 140. Before John had a price increase the prices remained at $272.99 for around 2 years while all the other brands were skyrocketing! It's a nice trip, leave between 9-10am, get there shoot the bull with everything, make our purchases and head home while stopping somewhere for lunch. It's a good day.
