Primer Pocket Uniforming Question

Watched Jack Neary in a video with Erik Cortina as he was explaining his steps in prepping new "right out of the box" .220 Lapua brass. As far as I could tell he is saying uniforming the primer pocket is one of the first steps he takes before fire forming. Checking my new .220 Lapua brass I find the primer pocket is too deep for uniforming. The Sinclair tool will not go anywhere close to touching the bottom of the pocket. Did I miss something in that conversation ?
 
Can’t speak for 220 Lapua brass but the 6 br Lapua @.126 is deeper than the pre set uniformers I’ve had so I went with the click adjustable and lightly clean the pockets at one depth after fire forming.

Use a K&M adjustable uniformer.
I personally don’t uniform brand new brass prior to making it a 6PPC, but after a couple of firings you can have it adjusted to have it start to clean up and at least flat sides for seating primer. Around 0.122 - 0.123 rings a bell for the setting.
It may take a half a dozen firings to have it all cleaned up, depending on what loads you are running.

Yea this Sinclair tool measures .121
 
+1 for the PMA tool. It’s made for the deeper Lapua cases. I use it on the 6BR and 6PPC. I played with the adjustable 21st century tool and sold it after using the PMA tool.

Would anyone also know the depth to set the tool to for Lapua large primer pockets?
