Primer evaluation

Where they shot with the same load? Per chance, did you chrono them? Appear to be starting to flatten but still rounded at the edges. no ejector prints. My humble opinion, shootum but keep an eye on the primers.
By the way, what is the load, gun?

They look like primers, which I find most often the single most useless way of determining anything. Primers by themselves often display false symptoms based on other issues.
But yes not knowing anything about the rifle, ignition system, primer brand and load data they look fine.

RPR 6.5CM, yes same load same rifle. Bolt was Not sticky. load is: 41.0 grains of H4350. Thats 0.3 grains over the max in the Berger manual. Berger 140 VLD. CCI200 with Nosler brass cut to the suggested length in the Berger manual(1.910”). Chronoed then when it was 19*F it was 2595FPS average. It was about 36*F today I did not chrono them today.

They look like primers to me, slightly flattened but no ejector marks. I pay Attention to flattened primers but if there’s no ejector marks and the bolts not hard to lift I keep on keepin on, cautiously.

Even with how stable H4350 is supposed to be? Should I back that down to the max of 40.7?

Being that you are working up this load at one end of the extreme ( below 32F) you may want to work up a few tester loads for the first time you take it out at the upper end of the extreme(80+). Maybe 3 at 40.1,40.4,40.7.

You are shooting the twin to my loads in my 6.5 CM RPR. no sticky bolt here either. outstanding accuracy for me.
Shootum!

Definitely have to agree with several others that have suggested decreasing the load for warmer weather . I shoot a lot of A-4350 . 53.4gr in a 7.62x54r , behind a 185 Berger Hybrid in the "cool" months here in Az. , but drop down to 51.5gr to 52gr in the Summer temps . MV stays fairly consistent ( 2640 - 2670 ) , and it groups good . :D
