PRIMER CATCHER FOR RCBS PRESSES

If you take a look at the RCBS that comes with a Rockchucker IV for example, The primer falls backwards into the primer discard holder and then down into one of the two collection trays. The plastic device from RCBS is somewhat pliable. This product is hard plastic made by a 3-D printer. The slot is about the same, but with no "play" in its fit against the frame of the press.

I neck sized and deprimed 100 cases this morning. 100 of 100 went into the collection tube.

I was also skeptical before ordering but figured for a gamble on $25 it was worth a chance. If it didn't work as intended, it would not have been the first $25 I have lost and hopefully would not have been the last.

I just do not get how it catches the primer from the rear. Mine ejects out the front. Mostly onto the floor
I have one. You have to take the ram out and reverse it so the slot faces the rear. Works great
.***The model I have requires the ram to be reversed***

So, If you take out and reverse the ram you cannot use the primer function. I don't use this function anyway so it wouldn't bother me. I ordered one for my original Rockchucker. Still going strong after many years. Hope this works as I hate picking spent primers up from the floor. So does the vacuum by the sounds of it. Heck, you ought to hear my wife when she hears it too. Don't know which is worse, her or the vacuum, yes, she is, I can turn the vacuum off.

Correct, you can't use the priming arm. I never had a primer yet hit the floor after installing this.Probably 800 or so primers deprimed.
Like I said in prior post the primer catcher I have requires the ram to be reversed.

????? I did not have to turn the ram around. Simply placed the unit behind the ram. I did place some adhesive rubber weather stripping on the back of the unit so that there was no way a primer could not fall into the hole. I blocked off the front opening for priming as I so not prime on the press but it was working without the blockage.
Unit has a one way sloped ramp inside so that primers fall down easily. Connect a 1/2" vinyl tube to the 'spigot' and either block the other end with a cork or allow to dump into a trash can. I purchased mine from epsy.com for $18 or so. Choice of colors and it works very, very well.

Hello there, I am Tom, the one who sells the primer catchers. Please let me know what questions I can answer!

The older models Rock Chucker and Rock Chucker 2 eject the primer out the front of the ram and there are some catchers being sold that require reversing the ram so they kick the spent primers out in the back. That is not my design, the one I have for the older RC/RC2 simply replaces the factory one, is slightly larger and higher and has the collector tube atached. That way you can use the press with all functions, including priming.

There are more pictures on the website at www.primercatcher.com/shop1

These catchers are all printed with a 3D printer, come with a lifetime warranty and everything that is needed to put it on and start using it (some designs from the copy cats require adjusting screws and or locking it on the press with a spent .22 case).

The catcher for the RC 4/Supreme was featured in the Handloader Magazine, Shooting Times and several other publications and I guarantee 100% satisfaction. Not happy or it does not work for you, you will get a refund - this however has not happened with over 1000 customers so far :)

If you can send me the press and live for 2-3 weeks without it, I will check if one for that press can be designed and if so send one back with the press when done. That way I can offer a design for another press and you get one for free (besides shipping cost to me).

Dang, wish I could get one for my old Bonanza 68.

The old RC tray is loose and prone to falling out when the plastic tab is bumped spilling primers. Does this have a better fit, ie latch? Also do both sides funnel out or is there one tube?

edit, visited web site and see how it looks. I will have to get one. This has always been the Achilles heel of the Rockchucker. Thanks.

The RC/RC 2 one collects just like the factory one, to the left and right, but due to the higher edge and wider design, all primers get caught. It also comes with a slot cover for the priming assembly slot in case you don't prime on the press. The fit is tight, the crossbar in the back is much stronger and it does not move once installed.
If you want, order one, chose pay with check at checkout and I will send you one. If you don't like it or it does not work as described/expected, let me know what the issue is and no need to pay. If it works for you, you can send a check...
