Price to thread a barrel?

I recently got a suppressor released from jail. I had a gunsmith recommended to me by a friend at the range. I met with the smith today and dropped off the rifle. He is retired. When I asked him about money he simply said "pay me what you think it is worth."
I value other people's time, especially craftsmen. How much should I give him?

The rifle is a CZ 457 in a Manners stock chambered in 22lr. He will need to disassemble the rifle. He is threading 1/2"x28 for a dead air 22 mask and a ATS barrel tuner (also 1/2"x28).

What would be appropriate? Thanks.

Why? No different than most bolt actions, just run the barrel through the headstock. No need to pull the barrel, most smiths have lathes with spindles short enough and with enough ID for barrel work.

I charge $100 (which includes installation/timing), I think that's fairly typical.

$75-125 is pretty typical. I’d give him $100

Doesn't that barrel just come off, you can send it to who ever you want. I have done a couple of them, but by the time you ship it back and forth you will be at about 100 bucks.
