Premium custom cleaning rod market??

The ivy is/was the standard of excellence and I agree with the maker smooth stainless steel is the way to go. I got Dewey's way before I saw an Ivy but I think I spend more time cleaning my rod than the gun when clean them. I saw a guy at the benches at Manatee break a carbon rod off trying to get a stuck case out of his rifle. It was such a shit show that he wound up with carbon in his hand. I fully understand that something was wrong with his crazy wildcat and the fit in the chamber and his smith made sizing die. But even if you have your act mostly together some times you need to bump a case out and this rod was not up to the task. If I was looking to improve rods a closer fit to the bore size would be it for me, the step between a 22 centerfire rod and the next step up is too big. There are some that need more than a 22 CF rod but the 30 caliber is too much of a step. Just my 2 cents I am sure some like carbon rods just not me.

If it's a Cf over a steel rod it would be excellent.
I had been a fan of CF rods for years with the thought they were either straight or broke but they tend to flex and take much more effort to get through the barrel with a tight fitting patch.
After purchasing the Bore tech rods the last couple years I feel that they pass through the bore much easier, with that being said if you could combine the two and and have a steel core beneath the carbon fiber you would have the best of both products combined into one.
I agree with him. i run 50inch rods because of my length pull and like to stop the handle before the butt pad or right at. Id buy one. Plus i like the small circumfince handles

I think that you have good idea for a superior product. I have two Tipton carbon fiber rods as well as Dewey and Bore Tech. The carbon fiber Tipton rods flex too much in my opinion. Yes, if you started making your cleaning rods then I would buy several.

If you ever plugged a tire ( totally wrong but done all the time) and you push that tee handle reamer in, it can take a lot of effort, my fear was that spike coming back through the handle. It would be deeply imbedded in my wrist. With cleaning rods I refuse to push on the back of it. I take a death grip on the handle. If the rod comes through, at least it’s not INTO me.
Coating? Well I some Dewey’s that the coating has separated here and there. I doubt Dewey is the only one this happens to, but it’s what I have.

You should make me 2 at a very discounted price for trial and honest review to you, then decide if you want to publish the review or not, you know I'm a sucker for quality stuff, I use the Bore Tech rods and their measurement guide to get the correct length of rods, very accurate and useful. I only have 8 of your tuners and have tried a few others but think yours are the easiest and most precise tuners when used and adjusted correctly, like anything else there is a learning curve but a fast and short curve to learn. I still send you pictures of my tunes just for verification but the last ones we have been in agreement on as I am learning to read them correctly.

Why would a guy spend $150 for a coated or carbon fiber rod when you can get a micro polished rod from pro shot for under $45 ?
Just asking ..

You should see me trying to buy a couple quality rods for cleaning my Sharps rifles. 34" barrel in my 50-90 makes jags a real PITA. Best one I ever had was a milsurp for the 50 BMG.
