Cleaning rod? For newbie.

I'm looking to buy a good cleaning rod for my .243 win. I have a Tipton carbon fiber rod. Long story short I dropped the rod on the brass tip and broke it. I'd like a good quality rod for my rifle. Suggestions would be lovely; nothing too terribly expensive. 24" bbl.

Good shooting to everyone and thanks for your input!
Nate

Any cleaning rod that is not bare metal would be great. I use BoreTech coated rods because they make extra long lengths so you dont ride handle up onto the rear stock torquing the rod out of alignment with the bore so the jag does not impact the crown at the muzzle too much or at all. Also, Bore Guide, Bore Guide Bore Guide! Find the one that fits your action and use it religiously.

Use one of the suggested cleaning rods, good bore guide and the correct jag.. Also get the correct size patches.

I like bore guide and polished stainless. You will eventually end up with a rod for each caliber no flex problems. Carbon is for fishing rods, the flex is great there. Tom

I think the idea of the carbon fiber is that unlike metal rods, they will not scratch your bore even if they bend and touch the bore...

Went down the flexy rod road for several years with Dewey and Tipton's.
Now for the last 5 years or so I am back to stiff stainless ProShot and Ivy's rods.
With them, good bore guides, and the right size jags/patches/accessories I can honestly say for me cleaning is more productive.
Should not have ever left them....

Wow, information overload! The expression there is no wrong way to eat a Reece's apparently applies to cleaning rods too. I did invest in a bore guide some time ago; it is a universal fit aluminum job. It seems to fit the bill nicely for my purpose. Sounds like Proshot, Dewy, Bore Tech, and Ivy all make high quality rods. I won't be looking back at Tipton, I'm rather sore about the tip breaking off - I only dropped the rod off a four feet high table. My next cleaning rod will likely be a Bore Tech provided I can find one on eBay or someone on here who accepts PayPal. Although, I'm open to other cleaning rods too. Once again thank you for all of the wisdom and input.

I like dewey and proshot and you can get a very usable cleaning rod guide from sinclairs.
