preferred neck clearance?

I'm just getting around to playing with a 1-8" twist 6br barrel with a .269 neck. How much neck clearance is preferred for best results?

Excess clearance is not about safety, it's just excess.

Preferred = no more than .002 for best accuracy.

Neck clearance does not effect accuracy unless you dont have enough. I like .002-.003 for a 6mm and a little more for larger bores.

I always used the 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 rule. 1 1/2 thousands neck tension 2 1/2 thousands clearance.

Any more clearance than enough for a clean bullet release is excessive and your just working your brass harder than it needs to be.
