Preferred .22 LR Ammo for 100 yards?

I attached results from a recent visit to the Lapua Test center with my CZ 457 MTR. They only had Center X -7 lots and Midas+ 9 lots. I mentioned in advance was most likely going to buy the Midas for $4/box more as I expected it to shoot a little better. It did at 50 yards but at 100 it was about the same. He only shot 5 rounds of the Ctr X knowing I was leaning the other way. Hope that makes this as clear as mud!

Thanks for posting the pictures of those results. I find it really interesting to see a 20 shot group like that.

Depends on the gun. This particular lot of Lapua SLR shoots good in at least two of my best benchrest guns.

With the current dearth of match grade 22LR amo I find it difficult to try and use my tuner to get the best results from a particular lot, except with 10X which is generally available for in the MV my rifles seem to shoot the best, around 1,070-1072 fps. One rifle has a Harrells and the other a Cortina tuner. I feel fortunate to have one brand that I can be fairly sure I can get. I don't have the financials to purchase by the case, I usually buy 2 bricks at a time. I have 2.5 boxes of the "Magic" R-50 I had 3 bricks of 2 years ago, but can't bring myself to test it in my second target rifle, as I don't know if I will ever be able to get more.

Eley MV is printed on the box. Is Tenex with the published MV of 1070 - 1072 fps the only Tenex that shoots for your rifle? Will Tenex with other MVs not shoot in your rifle? Why does the ammo's average MV make a difference?

FWIW, playing with your tuner on a per lot basis is an exercise in futility.
Also RF barrels have zero preference for specific velocity, this has been shown time after time, good match ammo is good and can be anywhere from 1040’s to 1070’s.

I believe you could find a lot of either that shoot well in your rifle. The question is which one will you be lucky enough to come across. I’ve had better luck with Eley match than center-x. My current two lots of match are great.
midas plus shot very nice

Because I can get 10X in that MV range I have not explored buying other 10X outside that range. It might not make a difference, but I subscribe to the saying, "if it ain't broken, don't fix it". If I have to settle for a significant difference in MV I can always try to retune to that particular lot.
