Predator Hunting with Sierra TMK's

I have expressed very similar results probably less than favorable killing performance in a 6 mm AR Turbo using the 95 gr 6 mm TMK. Lost several hit coyotes with no blood trail and recovered coyotes showed no damage just pass throughs. They ran like they weren’t hit and had to really look to find the exit.

I have yet to have just a straight pass through. Most have dropped where they stood or ran only a few yards leaving chunks of bone, fur and tissue to follow.

Used the 60 and 69 TMK for 4 or 5 years out of my 26" 223 AI AR, and loved them...IF you don't mind sewing sometimes. The last two I shot had huge exit wounds from the 60. Can't remember any big exit wounds from the 69, but probably were a few. 60 was 3400 mv, and 69 was 3075. IMO of all the 22 cal bullets I tried I consider them to be 2 of the best, especially if you're trying to get to 500-600ish yds.

I shoot 69 tmk in my 223 AI 3200 fps. Work great on coyotes Very accurate. Do little damage on coyotes. Best coyote bullet in the 223 ai for coyotes concidering kill factor , accuracy and fur damage.

I can tell ya that the 90gr TGK out of my 6mm AI at 3500 FPS isn't kind unless you put it a ways back from the shoulder

Old post, but 69 tmk's are coming available again and thought I would add a little to this.

I ran 69 tmk between 3250 and 3300 on 22 grendel out to 500 yards on dogs and only ever had one that didn't go straight down, never had any that were tore up, many times you couldn't hardly tell where they were hit. Was shooting winter and early spring dogs with thermals.

Now building a 20" 1:8 twist 22 creedmoor and planning to run somewhere around 3450 to 3500 and see how they do, obviously close in will be messy at times, but should be a laser and a couple hundred yards out be more fur friendly

Used to shoot coyotes with a swift and 52gr. hot rodding them. Shoot at mostly, You didnt have to worry about bullet performance. It was in several pieces. Pelt damage was bad but I liked that old flat shootin sob. Doug

I use 80 gr Nosler H.P's in my 22cm
they are very accurate mine is a 7 twist 27" barrel

Pushing the 69 gr TMK with a 223 will not give you result that a 22 CR or 6MM AI. You push them with speed and they really open up.

Thinking of Reloder 16 behind the 77 grain TMK @ 3300 fps. I don't keep fur, just want to anchor them.
