New rifle for groundhog hunting, 6mm Rem custom

Thanks for all the info! This is a great forum! I finally got out to shoot the new gun and I am pleasantly surprised! I would like to load pics but can't figure out how? I tried loads of Superformance and 75 gr Vmax, shot 5 shot groups working up to max load and 2 of the groups were <.5" but didn't get to shoot all the loads had to stop before got to max loads. But also shot VVN N-550 powder and 87gr vmax, WOW!! At max load of 44 gr, it put 4 shots into .3" and one flyer out about .5". this should be about 3350 FPS. Will definitely shoot this again!!

I have a Remington 700 BDL with a 26" 1 in 10 twist the barrel is a factory barrel that I bought and replaced after shooting out my first barrel. I use 75 grain Hornady HP varmint bulletts and Reloader 19, neck size and AOL to fit the magazine. I only shoot for group at 300 yards at the range and if I do my part it's 1 1/16" at 300 yards so I have no idea about 100 yard groups.

I use it on windy days when my 223 gets blown around and the velocity and increased weight serves better on those days. I found out on the range that heavy rain tends to blow up the hollow points.

Just bought a used custom 6mm Rem built on a Rem 700 action, Krieger 26" 8tw. This is my first forte into fast twist long bullets and could use some suggestions. The throat is very long, I seated a bullet (70gr Sierra) in the gauge and pushed it into the refiling and there wasn't enough bullet in the case to hold the bullet! I hope the throat isn't shot out!! The gentleman that sold it to me assured me only 100rounds had gone down the tube. That said, I am going to have to shoot 80+ grain bullets and would like any advise/recommendations you can offer! I only groundhog hunt with it, no target and no deer. Thanks.
PICS?

The barrel is probably just throated long for bullets to utilize that tight twist.

I suggest trying a 55 grain lead-free Nosler Ballistic Tip. They are very long for weight and love to jump.

I had a 6 ackley and shot out the barrel with 70 gr Sierra HPBT over W785 ( powder which is long gone.) That little pill exploded the prairie dogs for a couple of years . And accurate.
