Precision Matthews 1440GT or South Bend Sb1114F lathe?

Let me share my patented super spider screws.

Bronze tip.
O-ring
Bronze "washer" - Tighten down on the o-ring "just enough" - Then you can turn the screws by hand as much as you want and the washer stays put. Makes dialing the outboard end much faster.

I got a long piece of 4 inch hydraulic cylinder that I cut into "lift pucks"... I will just put the factory feet on top of them. It'll happen late winter after all of the post-season work dries up
I have always poured a platform to raise the lathe by 3 1/2 inches. They just sit too low.
I'm pretty sure the lathe sold by KBC and labeled "Kent-USA" is the same machine as the PM or the South Bend. My dream lathe would be a Standard-Modern, which is Canadian/American made. They are great machines but are a little bit spendy, costing about double what the PM, SB, or Kent machines do. WH
