My first truck was a '51 Chevy that I bought on my 14th birthday. My 50 Chev had babbitt rod bearings. Dippers on the rod cap picked up the oil from nozzles.
First car when I was 14 .1953 Mercury flathead. Paid $27.50 at an auction drove it home by myself, no license. Dad told me there it is learn. If it's not running, you have a bicycle, or two feet.. Little harsh, maybe, learned a lot. Dad still with us at 94 . Going down fast.My first truck was a '51 Chevy that I bought on my 14th birthday.
Me and my Dad worked on it until I turned 16. We rebuilt the engine and re-poured the mains along with a LOT of other work to it. That truck taught me a lot (as did my Dad).
Got my drivers license in it.
Wish to heck I had the truck and more importantly, my Dad, still around.
