Practical Limit of 26" 308 1-10

I have a Savage 26" fluted Bbl. and I'm wondering what the real world range limit on this bbl. is ?? Thinking about trying some "F Class" shooting, and just don't want to waist time when I could order a 30 " or ?? ,and not waist time and $$$

I have a Pierce action rifle with 10" twist, 26" barrel. It will shoot 155.5 Berger FULLBORE at ~2990 with excellent accuracy. It worked fine in a 1000 yard match but was blown around a little more than the 210's I was usually using then. If you are shooting 600 yards matches, there will be no problem. 30" makes it easier at 1000, but the 26" should do the job.

I shot a 26" barrel last year for f-class long range. To be honest, I used heavy for caliber bullets and had great success with the 208 Amax. At the same time, I had a heck of a lot of fun and did put up some pretty good scores @ 1k.

I also did the testing on the 200 Hybrid, and I think it is a really good bullet for 1k out of a 26" rifle.

The difference in velocity from 26-30" has been only 50 fps in my rifles (from 2600 to 2650 with the 200 - both like the same load - go figure). That little bit of velocity makes almost no difference at even 1k.

I'd try to just use it as-is if the accuracy is good enough.
